Day 255
A late-summer sunset at the lake. The harmless gnats were everywhere, and in the fading sunlight made everything seem quite surreal. (These are the same gnats featured on day 108.)
Day 254
Being Patriot Day, it’s quite apropos that I should discover the Northern Kentucky Police Officers Memorial on this day. My thanks to the men and women serving in all services that exist for our protection.
Day 252
Lemon pudding with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. This needs to be a more regular part of my life.
Day 251
Though I’m back home, a part of my time away remains: sand from Myrtle Beach on my flip-flop. Too bad the photo is a little grainy ….
Day 249
Due to travel preparation and the trip itself, I’m a few days late with August’s progression shot. The late-afternoon sunlight makes everything look more vibrant than it did in the last couple of months’ evening shots.
Day 248
With the wedding over and no extra vacation time, today we made our way home. We had wonderful travel weather!
Day 247
Today was the day! As best man, I couldn’t exactly have my camera with me at all times, but I managed to get a nice shot with my phone. Congratulations, Daniel and Jenny!
Day 246
Today, as dusk approached, Daniel and Jenny’s wedding party, friends, and family gathered at the lake for the wedding rehearsal. Such a perfect place for a wedding!
Day 245
Joel and I made a quick dash to Myrtle Beach before Daniel’s bachelor party; it was my first time to see the Atlantic Ocean. Today was the calm before the storm—figuratively with wedding activities about to commence, literally with a hurricane approaching.
Part III begins
As you may already know, last year I took one photo every day and posted those photos here. It was an amazing experience, and I received far more feedback than I ever expected. As many of you also know, though I continued taking photos each day in 2010, posting became increasingly sporadic as the year wore on, and the last photo I posted was taken on August 31, 2010.
Today, September 1, I begin posting the remaining third of last year’s project. Each day’s photo will be a look back at my life exactly one year prior. I’m excited to finally be posting these photos, and I think this will be a lot more fun than just posting them unceremoniously in one large group.
I’d like your feedback
1. As I post the remaining 2010 photos, should I back-date the posts to 2010, or leave the actual 2011 timestamps? (In part, I’m considering how the archive page will look.)
2. I did begin a new, non-daily project for 2011, however for various reasons it didn’t last long. Looking back at those photos, I wish I’d kept it up. Should I remove these posts?
